FREE Digital Skills Training for the Youth
As part of our commitment to expanding access to digital skills, WeThinkCode_ has partnered with the IDC Social Employment Fund (IDC-SEF) to launch South Africa’s largest community-driven digital skills programme, equipping 44,000 youth with the tools to enter the digital economy.
We’re offering fully funded, short training programmes in coding, AI and work-readiness designed for high school learners or youth aged 16–35.
Our Three Training Programmes
Our programmes are delivered by WeThinkCode_ students and alumni through two channels: In-person workshops hosted with youth-focused community organisations and high schools (grades 10 – 12), and also through online webinars, which allow national reach and immediate access to digital certificates.
Hands-On Coding
A practical beginner-friendly coding programme where learners engage in simple programming concepts using Python, logic-building, and interactive tech projects. The focus is on building a solid foundation in technology through hands-on activities.
Work-Readiness Training
Peer-led sessions that prepare learners for the world of work. Activities include LinkedIn profile setup, mock interviews, communication skills, and building a strong personal brand online.
AI Beginner Course
An introductory course designed to build confidence in essential digital skills using tools such as Google Workspace and basic AI platforms. Learners gain practical experience in navigating digital environments safely, effectively, and ethically.
Tech Enterprise
Through this digital incubator model, Fellows are placed in structured, paid roles supporting the digital transformation of up to five township-based black-owned SMMEs and community NPOs
Expanding Access Nationally
WeThinkCode_ has onboarded partner organisations such as SA Artificial Intelligence Olympiad (SAAIO), LEAP Schools, Trevoh Noah Foundation and Thokoza Progressive Youth, who have already started integrating the programme into their organisations.
